This Friday 9 October the Gulbenkian will welcome three incredible acts to its stage, in the October instalment of Beautiful Town Music. Successful alt-folk band Flight Brigade will be bringing their happy, quirky, soulful sound to the stage as headliners this month. With recognition from BBC Radio 6’s Steve Lamacq, and past supporting slots for Dry The River and King Charles, they are causing a lot of buzz at the moment – so the chance to see them at such an intimate evening may soon become a much harder task. They are the coming together of two families, joined by the marriage of lead singer Oliver and fellow bandmate Miriam, and are set to release their debut album, co-produced by Gavin Monaghan (The Editors, Kings of Leon, Robert Plant, Paolo Nutini). Their live shows are a spectacular occasion, and have been described as ‘astonishing’ by BBC Radio 2’s Janice Long, so are definitely not something you’d want to miss. They have also brought along two sensational acoustic acts as support.

First to grace the stage will be Ted Clark, a Liverpudlian singer-songwriter who formed the band My Life In The Making, who gained their own following thanks to supporting and sharing the stage with rock heavyweights Biffy Clyro. Here to perform his emotive, atmospheric acoustic folk music, he is a talent you most certainly won’t want to miss.

Self-taught, multi-instrumentalist Thomas Ashby will also be making an appearance on Friday, and with recognition from BBC Kent Introducing plus a number of festivals under his belt, he has built up an excellent reputation. Playing alone onstage with a guitar, kick-drum, snare and tambourine not only means that he is extremely gifted, but also means he can put on an awesome show as well.

In order to buy tickets for this exclusive, one-night-only event on Friday 9 October, please visit the Gulbenkian’s website.
