OutKast to Headline Bestival

OutKast is the first among the headliners to be announced for Bestival 2014. The ‘Hey Ya!’ duo have recently reunited and have chosen the festival for one of only two UK performances this summer. The band, consisting of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, are most famous for their 2003 album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, which was one of the first introductions of hip-hop into the mainstream. Remarkable Ice Show Comes To The Marlowe

Prepare to be dazzled this week at the Marlowe Theatre thanks to the phenomenal production of Beauty and the Beast on Ice, by the Russian Ice Stars. France’s New Equality Bill: Will it Work?

Jessica Mills expresses her support for the equality bill currently being debated in the French Parliament. The French government has recently proposed a new wide-ranging bill attempting to enforce egalité for women in both their professional and personal lives. The French parliament is currently in the process of approving this bill, which has caused widespread controversy amongst certain groups. Gavin Esler Appointed New Chancellor of the University of Kent

Gavin Esler, an award-winning journalist for the BBC and a Kent alumnus, has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the University of Kent. He takes the role from Professor Sir Robert Worcester, who has been the Chancellor for seven years, as he retires. Esler graduated from the University of Kent in 1974 with a BA in English and American Literature, and has worked with the BBC since 1977 after completing an MA at the University of Leeds.
