England have made it through to the Semi Finals of the Men's Hockey World Cup, in Delhi.

Despite losing their 100% start to the championships when they lost 2.0 to Spain on Monday, England, along with Australia, have qualified to the next stage. England started the group stage on top form, beating rivals Australia 3.2.

They then went on to crush South Africa 6.4, with two penalty corners scored by Richard Mantell, and a further five field goals scored by Moore, Jackson, Catlin and Mackay.

Next up was Pakistan on the 4th of March. Two field goals each by Clarke and Middleton secured England with a 5.2 win; and there was no great competition by India two days later - as England went on to win the match 3.2.

The final game of the group, however, caused an upset, as England lost to a strong Spanish side who, despite beating England, failed to make it past the group stage.

England are now likely to face either the Netherlands or Olympic champions Germany in the first of Thursday's semi-finals at 12:35 GMT, but Korea and New Zealand are still in with a chance of making the knockout stages.
